Week 106 - Starry Night Cat Felt Pouch

I am enjoying sunshine this morning.
Hi everybody.  How do you enjoy your day?  I enjoy napping in a sunshine.  My human friend M seems to be amazed at watching me lying down anywhere in the room.  Well, basically anywhere can be my sleeping spot.  I choose the most comfortable spot.  I have my own bed, sofa, chairs, M's bed, windowsill and floor.

This week, M made a felt pouch with wet felting.  She said she wanted to make a hat, but it would be a big project for a beginner of wet felting.  Therefore, she tried a small project first to know how wet felting works.

The pouch size is approx 17.5 x 11.5 cm.  She first made the body of the pouch with wet felting, then attached the applique and the purse clasp.  The shrinkage is about 20%.  The felt is used about 25g.

Week 105 - Lacey Cat Pendant Nacklace

Hi everyone.  How is your weekend going?  I am relaxing and snoozing in the sunshine as usual.  My human friend M blames me that I am stalking her all the time when I am awake.  How dare she can say that.  I am just supervising her as a CEO (Cat Executive Officer).  Let's start my main work, shall we?

This week, M made a pendant necklace.  She has a lace motif of a cat.  Lace motif is usually sewn on the linen or cotton fabric as an elegant accent.  M used it in totally different way.

First M spread resin on the back of the motif to give it strength.  Clear glue would work as well.  Then she made a beaded ribbon and sewed on it.  Attached Swarovski Crystal and imitation pearl beads as an embellishment.  Suede cord added an usual chain makes unique look and to be wearable in casual occasion.  The end of the adjuster is a fish bead.

Let's start a check.

I like the glittering parts.

Week 104 - Journal with Hand Printed Fabric

Hello every human and kitty.  How are you?  Me?  Never better.  Eat well, play well, and sleep well.  My human friend M blames me that my stomach starts daylight saving time again, as I request a dinner one hour earlier everyday.  Working so hard, my body needs a good meal.

It's time to work on this week's project.  M made original fabric using special paints, then she made a cover of journal with the fabric.

First, M cut out calico as a journal size, and made some cat and paw print stencils.  Using the stencils she painted patterns on the fabric.  After the paint dried completely, she sewed it with matching bias tape .  There is a pen holder and the cover can be tied by suede leather cords.

Let's have a check.
Is there anything inside?
Oh, it's tabby pattern...

Week 103 - Country Style Fabric Bucket

Hello humans and kitties.  How is your first day of February?  I heard that the Chinese New Year has started and it is the year of horse.  No year of cat, because a stupid cat forgot the day of competition and asked a mouse.  And the cat was deceived by the cheeky mouse.  Don't trust a mouse!  Never mind.  There is a tiger, our relative still available in the twelve zodiac signs.  Although the cat forgot the day of competition, I never forget the day of posting this blog.

This week, M was making something with a sewing machine.  Let's have a look.

Country Style Fabric Bucket
She made a country style cotton fabric bucket, using calico quilting and red gingham cotton.  The cat applique is linen and the handles are cotton tape with polka dot grosgrain ribbon.  The size is about 20 cm diameter.

It is useful size to keep fruits, yarns, face towels, gardening stuff or whatever.  It would be a lunch bag.

I am checking the quality.
