Week 72 - Cat-hydrangea Brooches

Hi everybody.  How is your weekend going?  We got have lots of rain this month.  I heard the some parts of the country was in flood.  Poor things.  Today was sunny but chilly.  Of course I enjoyed sunshine as well as a heater.

This week, M made polymer clay brooches. Those are just like a hydrangea.  Well, not a hydrangea but a group of cats shape a hydrangea. M was inspired by a Nyagasaki Neko's illustration.

M made black and white cat-hydrangeas.  Each part is very tiny.  It requires patient work.

Week 71 - Purrfect Book Cover

Hello everyone!  How are you this weekend?  It has been miserable weather in New Zealand by the polar blast this week.  Continuous rain, windy and cold.  I groom myself in front of a heater.  The heater is attractively warm, but still I miss sunshine.  Yesterday was the longest night of the year.  Well, try to think it positively, from now on, the daytime is getting longer.  It is wonderful, isn't it?

This week, M made a book cover to keep her tiny Japanese book cozy.
Purrfect Book Cover
This book cover is mainly made of a scrap of linen, cotton, ribbon and a suede cord.  M decorated it with a polymer clay cat button which she made before and wood and glass beads.

You may think the cover is wrong side up, however, the Japanese book is normally written from up to down, started right to left, so M didn't mistake.

Is this the right side up?

Week 70 - Snow Leopard Beanie

Hello everybody.  Welcome to Everyweek Cat Craft Project, presented by me, Daisy.  This is the seventieth week's project that I will feature today, "The Snow Leopard Beanie".  Yeah!

Snow Leopard Beanie
Do not say, "it's out of season".  We are in New Zealand and it is winter...cold, wet, and miserable.  I miss warm sunshine.  As it is no point of grumbling about weather, I keep myself warm with being curled up on M's lap.  M made this beanie to keep herself warm.

This beanie consists of three parts, a white fur beanie, leopard fur brim, and white fleece liner.   It is thick and warm.  It is solid enough to shape well.  M did not use the interfacing.

M made a couple of hats for this blog in the past.  And the last time Soy, the door stopper cat become a model.  This time as well.
Hello again, I am a model for the beanie.
I am checking the quality.

Week 69 - Funky Fashion Pendants

Hello humans and kitties.  It's Saturday, a cat craft day!  It was a beautiful sunny day today in Christchurch.  M was happy that the laundries are all done.  As for this week's project, she hadn't decided what to make until this morning.  When she saw the bright sunshine through the window, she decided to make pendants using the UV craft resin.

Funky Fashion Pendants
The left one is lined a handwriting picture which M tried to make it like Picasso.  The right one is used a cat charm and pink pearls top on the pink leopard paper.

She made some antique gold pendants before in this blog.  Those pendant of today are both silver.  She used silver cat and fish toggles.

My checking is never finished.

Week 68 - Fluffy Fur Bag

Hello everyone.  It's June!  Today is the first day of winter in New Zealand.  I feel the winter has already been here as cold and wet these days.  We got hail last week.  My fur is getting thicker.

This week's project is a fluffy fake fur bag.  Sorry for the people in the northern hemisphere.  You may feel this is a little bit out of season.  But we are in winter.
Fluffy Fur Bag
M made this bag with leopard fake fur.  She attached ready-made bamboo handles and decorated with pom-poms.  The lining has a pocket and the top is a drawstring so that it can hold things securely.

See you next week!
