Week 94 - Meowy Christmas Wreath

Hi.  How are you everybody?  It's Saturday and the last day of November.  Good bye November, hello December.  Personally, I don't care November or December.  But people seem to be busy in December for preparing to a festive season.

This week, M made a Christmas item for me.
Meowy Christmas Wreath

It is a cat shape wreath.  M used a cardboard and foam polystyrene as a base.

The base is wound with florist tape and tinsel.

Then decorated with a charm, jingle bells, ribbon and cat biscuits-like ornaments.

I am disappointed that the biscuits are not real.  It's made with clay.  Cannot eat.

Anyway, I checked.

Week 93 - Cozy Cat Coffee Cover

Hello cat and craft lovers.  Are you having a lazy weekend?  I got up early this morning as I have a work.  Normally, I get up around midday.  You must think 'what work?'  Of course, I have a work to check this week's cat craft for this blog.  I am a hard worker.

This week, M made a coffee plunger cover.  Let's have a look.

M used felt fabric and made each cat part first, then sewed on the black felt.

Decorated with daisy shaped shell buttons.

I am checking the details.

Now, the work is done.  I can take a nap.

Week 92 - Royal Kitty Ballet Card Holder

Hello everybody.  How are you relaxing this weekend?  I got up around midday and sunbathed on the windowsill this afternoon.  Christchurch is sunny and warm today.  M was doing a clay work for this week's project.

She tried to make a Royal Kitty Ballet team again with polymer clay.  Remember, once she made a snow globe, then a pop up card.  This time she created a first kitty male dancer.  Let's have a look.

Oh, he is a long-hair cat wearing white tights!  The partner in pink tutu is me?

Is this me?

It is difficult to see in the photo, but the tutu is decorated by glitter.

Back angle.

I am short sighted.

Week 91 - Elegant Leopard Cat Nacklace

Hello humans and cats.  How was your week?  I was annoyed by fireworks this week.  I hate fireworks.  Even the Guy Fawkes day finished, but still stupid humans are doing fireworks to annoy all the animals around.  Incidentally, I hate Halloween as well.  Meaningless festival.  Black cats only enjoy it.

Well, I am not a grumpy cat.  I'd better to check M's work now.

Elegant Leopard Cat Necklace
She made an elegant necklace this week.   Materials she used are 6 x leopard print shell beads (25 mm diameter), 72 x round beads (6 mm), 1 set of cat and fish toggles, tigertail wire 65 cm, a few of jump rings and crimp beads and a heart cat pendant head (38 x 36 mm).  Finished size is about 56 cm long excluding the extension.

No special techniques required for this project.  Just thread the beads onto the wire.  Only a basic technique - attaching a clasp.

M made an another necklace on Wednesday.  It has nothing to do with Cat Project, but here is for your reference.

She used double wires and threaded all beads and crimp beads onto each wire at once, then started to crimp beads from the centre to each sides.  It is the easiest way to make these type necklace when you are not sure how far to set a bead away from the next bead.

I am checking the quality.

Week 90 - Antique style Cat Jars

New Brighton beach
Hello everyone.  How do you enjoy napping?  No nap?  How about nip - catnip?  No nip?  Ahhh, humaaaan!  Life is short.  Don't be so serious.  Take a nap and nip.  Learn from your cat to relax.

My human friend M went to New Brighton beach this week and took a few pictures.  The photo right is one of them.  The beach is about 10 min by car from our place.  She told me that the pink and yellow flowers are bloomed at the beach.  It is spectacularly beautiful contrast to the sea and sky of blue.

This week, M tried to her glass project again.  She couldn't have a satisfied result last week and changed the project.  How about this week?  Let's have a look.
Antique style Cat Jars

Both glass jars are recycled.

M used polymer clay and glass cabochons.  After baking to be harden, she applied Brush'n Leaf to make it to be an antique style.  The cat has Rhine stone eyes and holds a ball of yarn.

The other glass jar is simply painted cats and catnip pattern.

I am checking the quality.
