Week 81 - Pink Panther Bow Purse

Hi everybody.  It is the last day of this August.  So fast, isn't it?  I can smell spring in the air these days.  And it makes me sleepy.  Don't say that cats are always sleepy.

This week, M made a coin purse using a metal frame.

The silver metal frame is size 8.5 cm.  The interfacing is ironed on the main fabric.  The lining is calico and the bow part is the brown linen.  M added a tiny kitty charm on the bow.
Sewing the body to the frame.
Finish
I like the wee cutie charm.

Week 80 - 'Happy Days with My Cat' Bracelet

Hi everybody.  It is getting warmer here in Christchurch.  I can see the plants has brandnew leaves and looks more energetic and lively.  Spring is just around the corner.  Exciting, isn't it?

This week, M made a bracelet using a sheet of shrink plastic.
Happy Days with My Cat Bracelet

First, she cut out cat shape from the shrink plastic, then she made a pattern of circles on them and colored.  Before put them into the oven, she punched out holes.

Now, this is the interesting part.  Once they are baked well, they shrunk amazingly.  She connected jump rings them and attached nugget beads to make it as a bracelet.

One of plate says, "Happy Days with My Cat".

I'm checking the quality.

Week 79 - Black vs.White, Cat Othello Game

Hello, everyone.  How is your weekend going?  I am enjoying watching birds - sparrows, pigeons, black birds and so on.  It is wet today here in Christchurch.  M made a little thing to entertain herself in such a wet day.
Cat Othello Game
This is a mini version of Othello Game, also known as Reversi.  Normal Othello Game has 8x8 uncheckered board, while this mini version has 6x6.  Each disc is cat shaped.

The discs are made with polymer clay.  I assume M made this mini version, because she wanted to make only 36 discs rather than 64.

The field is green felt fabric.  M lined the grids on it by white acrylic paint. And she made a fake wooden frame with polymer clay.

Let's start the game, shall we?

Week 78 - 2 Ways Place Mat

Hello everyone.  How is your August going?  I think it is not so hard winter in New Zealand this year.  I found the cherry tree in front of our place has already put pink blossoms.  It is about two weeks earlier than usual.

This week, M made a place mat for herself.  She said that she wanted a simple place mat to make a dish stand out.
2 Ways Place Mat
Using linen with interfacing, she simply made it cat shaped and attached a pocket to keep cutlery.  However, it seems a little bit plain and boring.  So she decided to draw the face on the other side.

Cat Face on It
Honestly, I don't think her drawing is so great, but now, she can use it as two ways.

Mmmm, how can I check this?

Week 77 - Crochet Black Cat Pochette

Hello, cat and craft lovers.  It's cat craft time.  M has been crocheting with black yarn since last week.  And she was sewing today.  What is she doing?

Well, she made a cat shape pochette this week.
Crochet Black Cat Pochette
It's about 15cm x 27cm.  It can storage small items in its head as well as its body.  M likes crocheting than knitting.  She said, "crocheting is faster than knitting."  I know she has had an unfinished knitting jumper in a bag for a long time.  It's just like a Sagrada Familia project...

The yarn is not wool.  It's 75% acrylic and 25% viscose derived from bamboo.  The head part is fasten by snap buttons.  The liner is black felt fabric.  No interfacing used.  It can be used as a bag on a bag.

Example of use
I'm checking her bottom.
