Week 21 - Fortune Cat Bookmark

Hi everyone.  It's me, Daisy!  There was an another rattle yesterday afternoon.  It was M4.8 according to the news.  Don't worry, there wasn't any further damage in Christchurch.  Some cats are very nervous about quakes, but I am okay as long as I have cat food, fresh water, clean litter and cosy place to sleep.  Oh, of course I need my friend M to be looked after.

Today M was making something very tiny with polymer clay.  It is smaller than my paw.  It is a fortune cat!  Maneki Neko in Japanese.

The right one is a traditional fortune cat.

The traditional fortune cat is based on white/tortoiseshell cat.
The right paw up means the cat brings wealth.  The cat raised left paw brings people.

The left one is me?

M made a tabby cat charm besides the traditional one.  Tabby one has a pink heart instead of a gold coin.  Incidentally, the book in the photo is "CAT O'NINE TALES" by Jeffrey Archer.

I checked the detail.

Week 20 - Peg Bag

Hello.  Daisy is here.  One week has past so quickly.
Today, M forced me to take a worm tablet.  She insisted that I had to.  It is important to take a pill to protect myself from nasty parasites.  I know it, but I don't like a medicine.  On the package it says that the tablet is liver flavour.  No, it isn't.  I smelt medicine flavour.  Oh, please someone, make a much tastier wormer tablet!

Putting worm tablet aside and let's look at this week's project, shall we?  This week, M made a peg bag.  It is convenient to keep and to use pegs.  It is made from Indian jute with tartan bias tape trimming.

When I saw this project at first, I thought this was not a cat craft.

I was disappointed but I checked the quality anyway.

And then, I found a smiling cat on the tiny T-shirts.  Yes, I can say this is a cat craft.

Week 19 - Shopping Bag

Hi everyone.  How was your week?  The shortest day in this week and from now on, the day time will be longer.  Long nights are good for sleeping.  I enjoy napping on a warm heated throw or M's lap.

This week M made a shopping bag not to use plastic bags for environment.  Go green!

A black cat applique is on the cotton bag.  It is large enough to carry groceries.  Well, I mean 'cat food'.

Excuse me.  I felt itchy.
I'm checking the quality.

Week 18 - Fake Fur Hat

Hi, everyone.  Daisy is here.  Winter is definitely enjoyable season to relax in the warm house.  I like winter, spring, summer and autumn.  I can enjoy each season in many ways.  M told me that that is the Zen way.  I don't know much about Zen but this is the cat's way.

This week M made a fake fur hat matching to the collar in the Week 14.

It is decorated with grosgrain ribbon and beads.

Should I say 'Hello' to this?
Na. It doesn't smell any.

Week 17 - Leopard Cushion

Hello.  How are you?  June has just started and it was very cold this week.  We rarely have snow in Christchurch.  But early snow covered the ground on Wednesday.  It may be hard to imagine for people in northern hemisphere that snow in June.

I like watching outside through the window.

Watching outside is fun - birds, people walking by, and other cats hanging around.  And it is interesting to see the world changes in each season.

I enjoyed the view of white snow.

This week M made a fluffy leopard fake fur cushion to snuggle up in cold winter.

I mimicked the cushion.
It looks like our family.

Week 16 - Egg cover

Hello.  Daisy from here in New Zealand.  It's June and winter has just started.

Winter is good for being curled up and napping in front of a heater.

The door stopper cat is working while I am sleeping.  She didn't have a name in the week 13.  Now she is called 'Soy' as she is stuffed with soy beans.

And this week M made an egg cover with crocheting.  He is a yellow happy cat to keep your boiled egg warm.

Can I eat the egg?
Oh, nice smile.

Week 15 - Bandanna collars

Hi everybody.  How are you?  I am a little bit grumpy after visiting a vet this morning.  I don't have any problem of my health.  Just an annual vaccination and health check.  I hate it, but it is a necessary evil.  Sigh...
Oh, yes, of course M put the "CAT ON BOARD" plate on the rear window of the car when we went to the vet.  If you are new to this blog, please check the week 8 in April.

Last week M made a fur collar for herself.  This week she made me bandanna collars.

Same as gorgeous collars in the week 3, these collars come with a quick release safety buckle.  M made three different colours - green, red and navy. Each collar has a fish shaped grass bead and a matching colour jingle bell.

I tried on a green one.
I'm not in a mood to be a model today.
