Week 349 - Daisy Memorial

Hi, my name is Mika, as known as Daisy's human friend M.  I'm writing this blog instead of Daisy.

Daisy left this world to the heaven on 3rd June.  I don't know exactly how old she was, but probably around 16 years.  She became sick the last week of May and I took care of her 24/7.  She was so sick  when June started, I had to make the hardest decision.

I put some of my works on her favourite chair.

Every life has an end.  I was happy to be with Daisy for 14 years.  I hope she was happy too.

At this moment, I am too sad to continue this cat craft project, but I made the last thing for my beloved cat.

I am going to bury her ash in our garden, on the spot where she always took a rest.

I made her grave stone.

I may update this blog someday on behalf of Daisy.  Thanks for humans and beloved cats.

Week 348 - Acorn Cat Sisters

Hi human and graceful kitties, how are you?  Autumn has come here in Christchurch.  Last week, my human friend M went to a park for jogging and found a lot of acorns covered ground.  M brought back a few of them and showed me.  I am not interested in acorns as am not a squirrel.

This week M made a cute charm with acorn caps and acrylic felt.

Acorn caps are coated by clay lacquer.  Cats are made by needle felting.

Week 347 - Making A Face Mask

Hi humans and sexy kitties, how's your weekend?  At last the notorious coronavirus arrived in New Zealand.  It is still not common to wear a face mask here, but my human friend M made it just in case.

Face Mask

All you need to make this is : 17 x 20 cm double gauze fabric, 2 x 17-8cm elastic band, 1 x wired bag tie and thread.

First, sew top and bottom, then insert a bag tie into the top middle.  Hold and press the fabric to make three pleats with ironing.

Sew both side with keeping three pleats. Attach elastic bands to both sides.

A bag tie makes comfort shape to your nose.

What's this?

Not for me?

Week 346 - Cat Butt Brooch

Hi humans and talented kitties, how was your weekend?  After brief raining yesterday, I saw the beautiful sky today.  Autumn is approaching.  My human friend M was weeding.  She told me that she wants lawn renovation. I don't mind as long as I can reach cat grass.

This week M made an insane brooch.

She made it with acrylic wool by needle felting.  A pipe cleaner is in the tail to make S shape.

Checking.

Is this my butt?

Week 345 - White Cat Plant Pot

Hi humans and precious pusses, how are you?  I missed uploading last week as my human friend M went to a cat cafe.  M told me that the cafe was paradise.  She seemed to be happy to play with some kittens.  Yes, we, cats are really working hard to make humans happy.

This week, M made a cute plant pot with clay.

The clay is air dried.  M made legs and tail separately and glued after dried.

M used the white one.

I checked the plant.

And the pot.

Week 344 - Antique Style Leopard Brooch

Hi humans and hard working kitties, how are you all ? It is hot summer now and Australia is still burning.  Thinking of Aussies and animals who lost their home and habitat, my heart is aching.  Hope the fire will be off soon.

This week, my human friend M made a gorgeous brooch.

Antique Style Leopard Brooch

The base is polymer clay.  M cut out the leopard illustration from a magazine.

The illustration is glued on the base with Deco Podge and covered with UV resin to make a gloss finish.

Attached some Rhine stones and applied gold paint to be finish.

I'm checking.

Week 343 - Cat & Daisies T-shirt

Hello humans and fabulous kitties, how's your new year going?  I'm concerning about Australian animals.  Their habitat is taking over by fire.  How sad your land is becoming ash.

This week my human friend M made an original T-shirt using fabric paints.

Originally the t-shirt is plain with a pocket.

It was in a closet for a while.

Is this me?

Not my sweet smell.

Week 342 - Team Cat Emblem

A Happy New Year!  Humans and respective kitties, I hope all you have started a good year.  I had a good start - quiet and peaceful.  My human friend was not off from her work on new year's day, so I was a bit bored but could sleep and took naps.

The first project of this year is a cool emblem.

Team Cat Emblem

Those letters are cut out from white felt fabric.  M put 'cat fur pattern' with needle felting.  It is difficult to see the photo, but C part is designed as a cat paw.

The photo above is M's lettering on a paper.

Let's check.
